The Stanek Spinner - Part II

I was on a roll with prototype production over the Summer of 2025. But then IT STALLED BIG TIME. UGH. The shop in Brooklyn that was helping me got a big job for a restaurant build out and basically pushed lil ol me to the back :-( I get it.

In July, they created prototype 2 based on notes from prototype 1 and how it performed, installation, etc. It was an awesome design! I thought it was a home run.

BUT it did not pass the tests. Over just a few months and several bodies, it started to break down. Not break, but not perform at 100% - that's not good enough.

So, back to the drawing board.

But I was literally waiting for weeks ... into months ... to hear back from them about prototype 3. I was a sitting duck. Every day. Checking in. Being a squeaky wheel. Crickets. I honestly thought I was going to launch in October. So my annoyance and disappointment reached a tipping point.

After finally hearing back, I had already moved on to a new engineer and designer. Unfortunately, that design didn't work out. Then another. I consulted two more on fiverr (where you can get ANYTHING done!) I talked with friends of friends. I casted a WIDE NET. And each net costs $$$$$.

FINALLY...I found a designer AND potential manufacturer, Waseem, to design a new model, build and send prototypes, and potentially do bigger manufacturing runs. (often it's one or the other).

But, when they sent the new prototype, it was a BIG FAIL. Way too heavy and way too complicated. I cannot even begin! So let's move on.

Enter Matt Huber from garage. Matt is an engineer, builder, and awesome dude. Plus he is pole super star Sam Star's partner! Matt helped rework the design and helped me manage the changes with Waseem.

The next prototype was SO MUCH BETTER! We just had a few very fixable notes. And I am currently awaiting that prototype now.

On parallel tracks, I am building the website, working on branding + design, sourcing packaging, booking photo and video shoots (My favorite part!), and continuing the legal filing processes for patents in US and abroad.

It's a LOT. And a lot more than I anticipated in every possible way - especially financially and emotionally. I've had to trust my gut, make hard decisions, have hard conversations, mess up, recover, and repeat.

But I really believe in this product and what it can provide to the pole world:

  • Accessibility
  • Creative performance potential
  • Training tools

STAY TUNED!!! We are getting so so sooooooooo close!

p.s. Future ideas: Feathers! A disco ball attachment! LED lights! Clouds! Fringe! The possibilities are endless!

It's going to happen!
It's going to launch!
It's going to be in your hands, your studio, your stages and it's going to be more magical that we ever imagined!

(((Deep breaths)))

Thank you for being here <3
